A cadastral survey is a land survey that has the purpose of establishing property or legal boundaries. Usually a cadastral survey is not concerned with establishing geodetic positions such as latitude, longitude, or elevation. Few cadastral survey marks are included in the ["NGS"] ["NSRS"] database of geodetic control points.

Some example of cadastral survey markers are [:PLSS corner:PLSS corners], Forestry Service marks, BLM marks, and property corners.
