Oblique Arc - Dauphin Island Base Line
The Dauphin Island base net was surveyed in two stages. The base line itself was measured in 1847 and connected with the coastal survey from Mobile to New Orleans. Later in 1895-1898 triangulation was brought from Atlanta to Mobile Bay and connected with the earlier base line survey.
