CORS is an abbreviation for Continuously Operating Reference Station. A CORS station continuously receives the signals from GPS satellites and records information that can be used to correct survey-quality GPS data. The CORS antenna location is determined to high precision, so when it receives GPS signals, its known location can be compared with the delay of the GPS signal to compensate for atmospheric effects.
