Allegheny Series (1846-1880)
This series is a mixture of older work peformed by Bache and Boutelle between 1846 and 1874, and newer work performed by A. T. Mosman from 1874 to 1880. The older work brought the triangulation from the Kent Island base line westward to the Blue Ridge. The newer work extended the triangulation across the Alleghenies to the Saint Albans base line in West Virginia.
Portions of this series are also part of the Eastern Oblique arc which measured the Eastern Seaboard from Calais, Maine, to the New Orleans.
