This blog is an experiment in sharing some of the projects that I have been engaged in. They are all computer-oriented, in that software was either created or used to accomplish them. A lot of them relate to history: history of railroads and canals, history of surveying, even history of economics. They range from mining information from Google Books, to reproducing historical surveying calculations, to just playing around with numbers and maps. This is recreation, so most of the projects end at “good enough” rather than “the best in the world.”
